Dusey Lake Camp
| Dusey Lake and the connecting Dusey River offer great walleye, northern pike and speckled / brook trout fishing for visiting anglers - especially in the first half of the season when water levels are up and current flows brisk. |
|
| Dusey Lake is a long, narrow gouge in the Precambrian Shield (5 miles x 1/2 mile) and home to abundant walleyes and northern pike. As summer develops, lake levels fall dramatically and weedgrowth flourishes, making the lake difficult to fish effectively. However, early in the season (late May to mid-July), at high level, Dusey offers outstanding fishing - both in the lake and the adjoining river.

The Dusey Lake site also offers the opportunity to fish approximately 5 miles of the river - 1 mile downstream from the lake, 4 miles upstream. In the current, the early season brook trout fishing is great, while walleye abound all season long. Brookies typically run from 15 to 22 inches (1-1/2 to 5 pounds), with a 16 to 18-inch average. Those are mighty nice specks !
